For Bitfinex Users, Dollar Withdrawals Are Now a Weeks-Long Struggle
Three weeks after we are convinced that everything is going smoothly, some customers who use Bitfinex are still curious about why they can not withdraw money.
On October 15, the cryptocurrency exchange announced the announcement that "all cryptocurrency and phat withdrawals were handled as usual without any interference." To emphasize, "All interest rates (USD, GBP, JPY, EUR) withdrawals are in process and continue as usual."
This communication follows the remarks made in the previous week, and the exchange replied, "Bitfinex does not go bankrupt" about "online falsification."
However, as CoinDesk reported, some customers complained about delayed cryptocurrency and phat withdrawals for social media.
In just three weeks, users say they have not received the money in spite of long waiting times. CoinDesk sent several feedback requests for Bitfinex for two days, but we did not receive an answer to your question.
One customer, Jamie West, said in an interview with CorinDesk, "We are waiting for money after 17 business days after the event." They even charge 309 pounds for a 24-hour express service. I have a cheek to do. "
West described the e-mail received from Bitfinex customer support as: "In the case of telegraphic transfer, it may take five to fifteen business days to fully process and reach the receiving bank account. There may be a slight delay. "
Bitfinex spokesman said, "Express means that bank instructions are sent to the bank within 24 hours after business approval and does not reflect the processing time or procedures of the bank."
According to Reddit, West (head of Jme247) began withdrawing on October 15th.
CoinDesk spoke with seven other Bitfinex customers who waited several weeks for a bit withdrawal or canceled the withdrawal and canceled it. When specified, the amount was typically tens of thousands of dollars.
One user who requested anonymity shared a screenshot of the e-mail exchange with the Bitfinex support team and indicated that they had begun withdrawal on October 3. They received a message from customer service that they had paid for the payment. Announced on the 15th.
But when asked if he was paid on Tuesday, he said to CoinDesk, "I have not waited for a reply yet."
GrossBit's Reddit users "have not received it yet," on Tuesday at CoinDesk, referring to a $ 11,000 withdrawal that was almost completed on 18 October.
Jannie Pretorious told CoinDesk that he asked for a withdrawal on October 10. "Until the due date" he said "nothing on November 8th."
Another user of saloprj gaga looks prominent in his strengths. According to the screenshots he shared with CoinDesk, he started withdrawing $ 99,900 on October 8 and Bitfinex marked "Done" on October 12. But on Wednesday, he did not receive the money.
It certainly is not lacking in effort. He emailed Bitfinex Support on October 22, October 29 (twice), October 31, November 1, November 2, November 3 and November 5. He is Bitfinex Telegram 31, 6 November.
There is no dice. Saloprj sent a letter to CoinDesk. "[is] You have to wait.
CoinDesk has also contacted several others who have posted to Reddit and Telegram about delayed withdrawal, but we have not responded.

In most cases, Bitfinex has responded to customer complaints about delayed withdrawals, but responsiveness is not always delivered to users.
In Reddit and Telegram, Forum moderators (and Bitfinex employees) usually apologize and request a ticket number. Conversations are generally not publicly available.
However, the letter of Saloprj shared with CoinDesk is revealed.
The quickest reply from Bifinex he shared seems not to be his first conversation with the exchange.
"Because the problem is related to the correct person in the correct department, the problem is no longer supported in all directions, so responses to and answers to questions from Level 2 or specialized departments are not in the same time zone. Please. "
The employee added that he personally follows the employees of the above-mentioned departments. This department, which can be seen in a follow-up email, is a "finance team" where saloprj is confident on October 29 and "responds as soon as possible".
On October 30, a Bitfinex employee told Saloprj that his withdrawal was "completed on October 12. This state does not mean that the money must be in the bank, but rather all the relevant data is in the bank "He said.
The agent added, "[we] I ask you to be patient, not wait until the 15th business day has passed since the withdrawal was completed."
Salfrj wrote on November 3, 16 days after Bitfinex indicated that the withdrawal was complete, "Send [sic] back to my account or provide proof of what they sent."
His response three hours later – the last thing he got on November 7 – was frankly honest.
"Since our new deposit system is not yet fully integrated, the former deposit bank is finishing up a good withdrawal that generated the receivables."
Bitfinex suspended the transfer of funds for some customers on October 11 for some customers. In the next announcement, the exchange said, "By Tuesday, October 16, 2018, we are working to implement a new and increasingly secure account transfer system" […].
Other customers are known to be working on a company called Crypto Capital.
Customers who want to remain anonymous provided an email screenshot that a Bitfinex representative told them "Crypto Capital Corp. is processing your funds and it may take more time to resolve the transfer." I want to cancel my withdrawal request. "
CoinDesk contacted Crypto Capital, but the support manager said, "We did not mention our customers' status."
A screenshot of the Crypto Capital e-mail posted to Reddit describes "an extreme backlog in transit," but Reddit's Bitfinex manager told the finance team that "This e-mail was sent to Crypto Capital Corp's exclusive customers, It does not apply to non-existing customers. "
Crypto Capital did not respond to requests to confirm the authenticity of the email.

At least a handful of customers have given up their private withdrawals and canceled them, and in some cases Bitfinex used them to decrypt money instead.
Customers who visited k_stoyanov stated that they had posted a long narrative on Reddit and waited for three weeks, including communication with Crypto Capital. Eventually, according to subsequent posts, they withdrew the money into a bit coin, sent it to Kraken, and withdrew the euro from the exchange.
"It was the only choice for me," he added.
K_Stoyanov told CoinDesk four times about "always getting paid" about the experience of withdrawing the euro from Kraken. Coinbase Pro and Kraken withdrawals mentioned by other Bitfinex users in Reddit were "banked within 24 hours."
The customer requested BFXFan to withdraw US $ 4 between October 2 and October 15. No one arrives despite the fact that the exchange has indicated "Completed". On November 1, BFXFan said, "I gave up. They canceled the withdrawal and told CoinDesk "I quickly escaped."
Pikrachou's customer contacted Crypto Capital directly and waited a week to cancel the Bitfinex withdrawal, then told CoinDesk "I did not want to wait until it took several months."
On Thursday, Anibal Santaella wrote on the Bitfinex Telegram channel: "Having funds elsewhere for 36 days (fiat withdrawal), the funds will be credited back to the Bitfinex account today." "I sent e-mail to Crypto Capital and returned funds," he added.
Certainly, some customers are still receiving cash withdrawals.
One user said that he received the funds from the withdrawal on September 14th, November 5th. Other users said they received their money in three weeks.
But with these two comments, this thread included a third user. The third user said that he is on hold for 15 days (business days) and said, "Do not answer my message anymore."
A professional trader who said he would not use Bitfinex frequently and would not be named said to CoinDesk, "I've had a lot of withdrawals in the last month." "They are clearly flowing," he said. "They took longer than usual to arrive."
"This is a very big customer of the new bank," he said, explaining the backlog of the withdrawal request. Bitfinex is banking with the Bahamas-based Deltec Bank & Trust, which has recently confirmed its relationship with Bitfinex and Tether, a controversial stablecoin issuer that shares common owners and managers.
The merchant said.
